Profile Pages, Polls and History

Lots of news again: every registered user now has a profile page and you can access those from the member directory. On that profile you find aggregated information about that member's activity and their pets. Like what they are specialized in and -- new -- if their pets were the first in doing something special, like crafting an item or eating a certain food. The history stats go back to June 2007 and all items that have been added to the game before that date have history stats (as we obviously can't know who was first in anything before the pet logs parser had been added to the site).

This is meant to be a fun feature - it does not accurately reflect which pet was first in PsyPets as not all logs from all pets have been parsed here, but it takes the data from more than four million parsed logs which is quite a lot already.

Also new are polls which can be taken only by registered users via the My Account page. The first poll added is about House Add-Ons and first results show that both Apiary and Smokehouse are not very popular. You can see the poll results here:

Happy Easter

I've added a few new things to PsyPets World. I don't really remember all of them so you will have to discover most of them on your own. What's new is that not only items are in the database but now also spells, locations, events, quests, house add-ons and a glossary. An example for an event is the Easter Egg Hunt or the Advent Calendar. If you click on the entry you will get a list of items that can/could be obtained in this event with current numbers, prices and development. All normal items (like food boxes or Whole Pumpkin) have such lists attached now.

Also new... when you check your pets stats for activities like crafting or inventing you can now see what items levels they go for. The list of items is now 50 rows long and has a new column for level. Not all levels are known yet as some of the rarer crafts and smiths are too good for just being stuffed into a Hungry Tapestry's mouth for getting back their level.

PsyPets World Update

I am doing a major update of the site, selected elements and functions might not be available for a few hours but generally the trouble should be minimal.

Thanks for your patience.

Ben has been doing a lot of changes lately. The most recent changes are with the PVP battle system which has been implimented recently. The battle system is Peer Versus Peer, meaning that you can use a wand of which there are three elements, or a sigil which also come in three different flavours.

You can not attack people with a White Lilly, nor can they attack you. Everyone gets a White Lilly upon registering their account. If a resident doesnt have a White Lilly, you have the option of attacking them with either a Sigil or an Elemental Wand. The wands work on a weakness/stregnth base. Fire is strong against wind, wind is strong against water, and water is strong against fire.

Says Ben, on the subject of Crystal Balls :
* use a crystal ball to scry on a player - it tells you how many of each sigil they have, in relation to you
* a crystal ball may break
* if the player you're scrying on has an Eye of Horus, it might see you scrying, and report it to the person you were scrying on. Staff of Horus doesn't count!
* if an Eye of Horus sees you, the chance for crystal ball breakage is increased

There is also the Item Nettling Scroll, which shows you seven random residents who do not have White Lillies, and is available from the Alchemist.

Also, your wins and losses are recorded on your Profile.

Have fun battling, Psypetttians!

PsyPets Down: The site is down until the database has been restored from a point before the Flower Shop has opened. The reason behind this is kind of sad: when Candy Hearts have been added to the Flower Shop, they were available to buy for 5 moneys. But sellback values are updated only once a day, at noon GMT, so the Candy Heart sellback was still 8 moneys. Someone heavily abused that bug and bought and gamesold more than 40,000 such Candy Hearts (Kudos to Mighty Ruff for spotting this), and Ben has decided not to let them get away with the undeserved wealth.
